I am an artist and illustrator that can turn everyday paper into beautiful works of art. Learning to cut as a child in Switzerland I moved to Canada in 1987 and have continued to improve my talent and finding new ways to create intricate artwork with paper. Now living in Stratford Ont. I enjoy to explore art with paper and it can take anywhere from a few hours to several weeks to complete the fragile masterpieces.

I enjoy and relax working with paper. Over the years I have developed a language of storytelling by cutting stories out of a single sheet of paper and by using only scissors to cut. New applications and cutting technics have been refined over time and have added a unique selection of artwork to my portfolio.

Credits include illustrating four children's books and being nominated for the Governor General Award for Children's Illustrations in 2000.
My work has been sold at the One of a Kind Show and has been purchased by museums, universities, libraries and many private collectors. I enjoy to explore the limitless possibilities with paper and scissors.

Nelly Hofer is a local artist and published illustrator that turns everyday paper into beautiful and intricate works of art. She has illustrated four books and was nominated for the Governor General’s Award for Children’s Illustrations.
